Part B
Medicare Part B (medical insurance) covers medical services and supplies deemed medically necessary to treat your health condition, which can include outpatient care, preventative services like cardiovascular and cancer screenings, ambulance services, durable medical equipment, and even part-time or intermittent home health and rehabilitative services like physical therapy, if ordered by a doctor.
Anyone who is eligible for premium-free Medicare Part A is also eligible for Medicare Part B by enrolling and paying a monthly premium.
Like with Part A, generally if you are receiving retirement benefits before age 65 or qualify for Medicare through disability, you’re automatically enrolled in Part B as soon as you become eligible. If you are not automatically enrolled, you can apply during your enrollment period, as you did with Part A. Call RRC Insurance for any assistance with applying.
